Noemie

From:

I come from Les Vosges, which is in some small mountains in the North-East of France – with a lot of little ski areas all around.

Learnt to ski:

I learnt skiing at 2.5 years old with my parents and joined a ski club as soon as I could. So around 6 years old was the beginning for me of training & races. I started in the ski club which evolved to a regional team and then to a special high school which adapted my schooling to a busy international race calendar.
When I finished my little career 😉, I was coach for a private race squad for 1.5 years and I even had the chance to coach them in Chile for some time.
In parallel I passed my first exams to be ski instructor and started to teach in a ski school when I was 17.  I was only 20 when I move to the Alps, in Meribel !! I fell in love with the 3 valleys so I have never left since I arrived.
I was missing competitions, so I decided to start freeride races. I did 2 years on the Freeride World Qualifiers. After which I was finally done with competitions.
I’m now enjoying myself by skiing on piste & off piste with my friends and I am so glad to be in this wonderful ski area to do my job.

Summer months:

During the summer I have done many jobs, mostly outdoor sport jobs.  Last summer I was working in an adventure park in Bozel. But I am training to be hiking guide.  I love to travel when I’m off but that’s was before I bought a house 😅. I’ll be happy when everything will be done and when I would like to travel again 😉

Favourite piste/run:

To teach, Altiport is really awesome for beginners and children. I love Choucas run in Meribel and blues around Saint Martin de Belleville. It is quiet, chill runs and lots of ground movements.

Favourite off-piste area:

For my pleasure and off-piste I like to explore everywhere with friends. But for quick/good ride all the Saulire couloirs Meribel & Courchevel side will be always a good plan 😉

Favourite lift:

I really like to go in the Mont Vallon lift, the view is amazing – especially at the top.

Best view :

It’s difficult to tell the best view in the 3 valleys cause it’s changing all the time and every where you are can have a stunning view. But I would say that all the tops high in each valleys are incredibly fantastic.

On hill eating:

I like to eat at “Maya” in Meribel. Food & ambiance are really nice, very surprising decoration as well.

Evening apres or dining spot:

Après ski will be always good at “50/50” in Meribel but I’m living down the valley so I like “Relief” in Brides les Bains (beer & good food) and “Art Factory” in Moutiers best terrasse for a coffee, good combo beer/charcuterie/concert for the evening.

3v must do:

To add a little something extra to your holidays you can try paragliding a bit of ski touring or a night in a refuge for the most adventurous.

Simple advice:

A little tips to ski better : stop looking at your skis, relax and look ahead there is much more to watch 😉

Don’t leave home without:

When I’m going skiing I never leave behind my socks 😅🤷🏼‍♀️
