FAQ’S

Do you offer private ski lessons for beginners in Méribel, La Tania and Courchevel?

Yes. We provide private ski lessons for complete beginners through to advanced skiers across Méribel, Courchevel, La Tania and the entire 3 Valleys ski area. Our instructors tailor each lesson to your ability, helping you build confidence, improve technique and enjoy your time on the mountain.

Will my ski instructor speak English?

Yes. All Marmalade instructors either speak English as their native language or have extensive experience teaching ski lessons in English. We regularly teach guests from the UK, Ireland, North America, Australia and other English-speaking countries.

Can family members or friends share a private ski lesson?

Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to share a private ski lesson. For the best experience, participants should have a similar skiing ability, as the lesson pace and terrain will usually be determined by the least experienced skier in the group.

Our instructors will still endeavour to provide individual feedback and coaching to ensure everyone benefits from the session.

Do you teach children?

Yes – Simply as a guide our motto is – any age, any ability.

Do you offer group lessons?

All our lessons are sold as private lessons. But private lessons do not need to be one on one.  If you are part of a larger group, collection of friend or families who’d like to share a lesson then you are welcome to create a group and we will deliver to that group.

Can we meet our instructor at our chalet or hotel?

Yes. While our usual meeting points are La Chaudanne in Méribel and the Verdons area in Courchevel, we are often able to meet guests at their chalet, hotel or apartment when it is practical to do so.

Please let us know your accommodation details when booking and we will do our best to arrange a convenient meeting location.

Do we need a 3 Valleys ski pass?

We generally recommend purchasing a 3 Valleys lift pass, especially if you are taking a full-day lesson. Having access to the entire ski area gives your instructor greater flexibility to find the best snow conditions, quieter slopes and terrain suited to your ability.

However, depending on your lesson location and objectives, a local area pass may sometimes be sufficient. Please contact us if you would like advice before purchasing your lift pass.

How far in advance should I book ski lessons in Méribel?

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during Christmas, New Year, February half-term and Easter holidays when availability is limited.

What should I bring to my ski lesson?

Please bring suitable ski equipment, a valid lift pass, warm clothing, gloves, goggles or sunglasses, and water. Your instructor will advise if any additional equipment is required.

Do you offer off-piste skiing lessons?

Yes. We offer off-piste coaching and guiding in Méribel and the 3 Valleys. Participants should be comfortable skiing on red runs and above. Avalanche safety equipment can be provided when required.

Do you offer snowboard lessons?

Yes. We provide private snowboard lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders throughout Méribel, Courchevel and La Tania.
