Learnt to ski:
At ripe old age of 3 in Val D’Isere
Summer months:
Kernow baby! Mrs Wavehunters based in Polzeath with my family,
Favourite piste/run:
Kids – it’s got to be the Meribel Altiport. Plenty of fun adventures to be had – in the trees, off-piste and great access to some blue and red runs.
Adults – we are so lucky to have so much on offer but surely a favourite is the red run Dave des Creux. It’s big and wide at the top, gets steep and challenging towards the bottom. It’s always quiet and it’s next to one of the best restaurants on the mountain.
Favourite off-piste area:
For me it has to be Les Avals. It’s away from the crowds. You have to earn your turns and there is always some untouched snow for you to whoop whoop in. But at the end of it all you ski out and you’re in Courchevel 1650.
Favourite lift:
Best view:
Mountain restaurant:
Has to be Cave des Creux, Courchevel 1850, Chez Pepe Nicola, Les Menuires and Maya, Meribel.
Village restaurant/bar/apres:
Not one for hitting the apres scene too often but when I do I like a drink in L’Abreuvoir. And yes…. it’s an Aperol Spritz please.
Tsaretta Spice… after all that amazing Savoyarde food it is nice to something a bit different.
A must do experience:
Cheese fondue. All the way!
Simple piece of advice:
Get a ski instructor from Marmalade Ski School of course! Then you’re bound to be awesome at skiing.
Don’t leave home without:
Hand warmers! I get really cold hands – I always have a spare pack in my bag in case you do too!
