Martin

From:

I’m from Val D’Isere

Learnt to ski:

I learnt to ski in Val d’Isere where I grew up. I skied with the ski club and my dad who is a mountain guide. I stopped the ski club at the age of 13 and concentrated on free skiing and telemarking – both on and off pistes.

Summer months:

After the winter I used to work as a kayaking guide but now I work as a mountain bike guide in italy. With my family we are spending the summer between Italy and Meribel

Favourite piste/run:

I love the combo of Choucas into Gelinotte. In general, for teaching I love to spend time between Tougnete side and Top of St Martin because there are plenty of nice runs with all the difficulties too.

Favourite off-piste area:

To bring client off-piste it is wherever I think the snow is good but I really like the area around the Mont du Chat and the Brequin ( between Val Thorens and Orelle). To ski for my self I like to go touring into the Les Avals valley – quiet and far from the lifts.

Favourite lift:

Legends – because it is heated😂

Best view :

Top of Signal lift in Courchevel 1650 with the nice view of the Les Avals valley.

On hill eating:

I love the Montagnard in the heart of the village of St Martin.

Evening apres or dining spot:

The Ronnie for a boozy apres skiing but I also love the Tsaretta pub down in Les Allues. And for a dinner in town – Chez Lilie

3v must do:

First tracks on Les Creux as a warm up, ski some fresh powder all day and then go for a good après ski …. Sound like my perfect kind of day

Simple advice:

Bend ze knees!!!!!

Don’t leave home without:

Neck warmer, suncream and……
